Vinyl Wall Fireplace

We moved into our new house two months ago and the flooring isn't complete, once it is, I will be putting a hutch on the vaulted wall. Until then, there is a big empty space on the wall. 

I have seen graphic faux fireplaces made of painted boxes and decided to make my own fireplace with adhesive vinyl and my silhouette cutting machine. A cutting machine isn't needed to make this if you are crafty and have vinyl. I made the entire mantel with a box cutter and a Sheetrock square. 

I used the clear Command brand adhesive hooks to hang each of the stockings. 

I felt it needed a little more decorating so I took to my computer and silhouette machine to make everything else.

Construction birthday and bulldozer cake

Here is my son's party that I am putting on pinterest. 

My son's 3rd birthday. Construction party and bulldozer cake. I used one cake box, a can of frosting and covered the entire cake with candy melts. This is the first time I have made a 3D cake and I am in no way an expert ;-)

Cut the cake!

As you can see, it's not perfect but my I just jumped in knowing that if I failed, I could make cake pops. It took 5 hours and I made it up as I went. My son hugged me 4 different times and thanked me for the cake/birthday. The imperfections didn't even matter because he was so happy. If you have ever wanted to make a 3D cake, I say just try it!
